Eye of the Beholder...Stephan Elliott

Q: Which directors would you like to work with?

Virginie:

There are many to list, so randomly I will start with Stephan Elliott.
Not only because I like his writing skills but also I was inspired by his journey. And the catalyst to many of his recent great works is "Eye of the Beholder", a project qualified by critics as "a failure"...that is actually what attracted me to his work. I really think that without this film, we wouldn't have had "Easy Virtue".
I know he has few projects in the pipeline, and I definitely would like to hear more about it sooner than later.

Vincent Cassel is Mesrine

Q: With whom would you most like to work as an actress?
Virginie:  I saw Mesrine Public Ennemy and Killer Instinct when it came out in London and what really hit me at the time was Vincent Cassel ' ability to inhabit characters without being judgmental and therefore conveying a real sense of make believe.

It highlighted to me yet again that as an actor, it is essential in the approach to play a character being fictional or not, to not judge the actions, that each and every person's actions has a motive and reasons to be "acted"upon. It is not our place as actors to be judgmental but it is our role to reveal the life, therefore actions of a character.
Vincent Cassel is an actor who can truly inhabit characters, therefore he must have a strong in-depth knowledge of his own psyche and life pattern to start with. His game is very specific, detailed which makes it all the most enticing to watch but also enticing to play with I imagine.
I look forward to working with him.
